Political Rivalry between Senator Jim Walton and Tom Pierce is so bitter that it threatens to disrupt their party on the eve of a primary election. A speech by Walton causes Pierce to become angry and it looks like a fight is going to ensue. A musician (Brooke Johns) is heard singing "That Old Gang of Mine" and it brings back childhood memories .
